Walking Stereotype

OH, COME ON! Listen, I know that not every stereotype is true, but please don’t specifically try to validate them. You don’t see Asian people walking around with solved math problems on their clothes!

You should see her Sunday Dress, it has chicken and collard greens all over it, with yams on her big hat.

I applaud this woman for being oblivious to the stereotype, or even better, perhaps she is aware of it but doesn’t care. Either way, I think she’s terrific for finding a tasteful dress that she likes, that covers all her pertinent parts (apparently not so easy for other Walmart shoppers!) and that looks good on her, and to hell with you and your stereotype. I wish everyone were as free of racial bias as she has demonstrated herself to be by wearing this dress.
I agree with your critique of people who choose to expose parts of themselves that should never be seen in polite company. No matter how poverty stricken they may be, no matter how meager their incomes or education, they can still cover their nether portions and spare the rest of us the view. When they choose to venture into a public place looking disgusting or indecent or strange and it is by choice, then it is open season and you have my blessing to poke as much fun at them as you can. But, I think you missed the point with this lady.

She can where whatever she wants, and yes if Asians want to wear clothes with numbers on them, they can to, that speaks to your ignorance, not theirs. Shes supposed to not wear a dress with watermelons on it because of someone else’s stupidity and ignorance? Ridiculous, and shows your true self.

I’m black and love watermelon. Too bad there are elements about trying to make individuals feel insecure about their most innocuous preferences. I applaud the sister for her bodacious dress. What might the thread count be on the sheet her detractor no doubt wears to assemblages where other intolerant folks gather to declaim their stereotypical viewpoints?

Dear MB,
With spelling and grammar like yours, you have no room to accuse others of stupidity or ignorance.
