The british are coming, the british are coming!!!
January 23rd, 2011
Looks like he bought that jacket four score and 7 years ago. Cool jacket & beard, though!
January 23rd, 2011
If this is what the south is counting so they can rise again…….they might as well just give it up.
January 23rd, 2011
I’m pretty sure this guy is a re-enactor or works at a historical museum type place of some kind
January 23rd, 2011
Civil War reenactor. They are a passionate bunch about their craft, BTW.
January 23rd, 2011
Pretty sure he doesn’t need the Taste of Home cookbook AND a can of ravioli!
January 23rd, 2011
Look Watson, the killer was in the shoe isle
January 23rd, 2011
I know that Walmart is popular down south, but even the confederate soldiers shopped there?! No wonder they lost the war.
January 23rd, 2011
Looks like he is stocking up for his “encampment”. Just play nice boys!
January 23rd, 2011
Aye laddie, the pot of gold – she ain’t bottomless ye know!
January 23rd, 2011
It looks like a reproduction of a Confederate Greatcoat.
January 23rd, 2011
it”s the ghost of Walmarts past
January 23rd, 2011
LMAO, yeah just a civil war reenactor. Which makes the “British are coming” comment quite hysterical.
January 23rd, 2011
That is the most fashionable outfit I have seen in a Walmart!
Not that I go to Walmart – but he is kind of hip.
January 23rd, 2011
The war is over and we LOST!!!
January 23rd, 2011
Kudos to Baldguy and John D…I thought maybe I was the only person who actually KNOWS a Civil War re-creationist any more. My friend does CW Navy, of all things, and is an amazingly talented stitchmaster who makes his own costume pieces when he can’t buy them on eBay. Trust me, they’re not as weird as the medieval re-creationists–and before y’all flame me to the ground, please be aware I spent 12 years proud to be An Tirian as well as American
. Looks like he’s only half in costume (hat’s wrong, can’t tell about the pants & shoes) but that does look to be a very nicely-made coat.
January 23rd, 2011
Good day Watson.
January 23rd, 2011
Sherlock Holmes in “The case of the missing price sticker”
January 23rd, 2011
Cool coat. I would wear it if it was cleaner and smaller. He can keep the beard though…..
January 23rd, 2011
Watson, be a good chap and go get Scotland Yard. I believe I’ve solved the case of why there are so many freaks in this establishment.
January 23rd, 2011
Why, LOOK!! It’s Abe Lincoln’s brother!
January 23rd, 2011
Hmmmm….. decisions decisions…..
If I go wireless….that would enable me to beat my meat at more truck stops with my pre-revolution sherlock home cronies!
Hmmmm….decisions decisions….
January 23rd, 2011
He looks like a town crier from along time ago
January 23rd, 2011
Did u said abe Lincoln? “No . I said hey blinken!”
January 23rd, 2011
Hey Sherlock has to shop too! Plus, Wal-Creatures are a mystery to solve!
January 23rd, 2011
I think that my mother had the same outfit back in the 60′s.
January 23rd, 2011
I didnot know the Amish fought in the Civil War…
January 23rd, 2011
He looks awesome! Sure beats tweety bird sweatshirts, leggings and house shoes (and pretty much all other traditional WalMart attire).
January 23rd, 2011
i am sure when he is telling the story to the ladies that the suprise ending comes when he pulls out his musket…
January 23rd, 2011
Used to live near Antietam Battlefield. This guy is definitely a Civil War Reenactor. I think he looks pretty cool, actually. Not crazy about the hat though.
January 23rd, 2011
If the Union penetrates the Walmart line, the war is lost.
January 23rd, 2011
Hey I respect anyone I see on here who is that fully dressed with no butt-cheeks hanging out….and this guy gets extra-credit for having to button up all those brass buttons.
January 23rd, 2011
Everyone is commenting on his attire. I can’t seem to get the title out of my head. Distant memories of a Mel Brooks movie where men in tights are singing and a blind man is running into a tree. Ah, good ole satire’s.
January 23rd, 2011
my amusement with this website is that you never know what you are looking at… funny 24-7
January 23rd, 2011
An Officer and a Gentleman. Next stop the Liquor Aisle for a little Southern Comfort to go with his friend Jack Daniels.
January 23rd, 2011
Hey look everyone!
It’s Abe Lincoln’s gay brother in drag!
January 23rd, 2011
No one worry Sherlock Holmes is on the case.
January 23rd, 2011
All that is missing is a corncob pipe, and the outfit is complete, cause you know that musket is out on his horse!
January 23rd, 2011
The Rebs didn’t have grat coats, they wore overcoats.
January 23rd, 2011
THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!
January 23rd, 2011
Civil War re-enactors are such sticklers for accuracy
that they use Coal Fired microwaves for their frozen Pizza !
January 23rd, 2011
Okay, PoW owners, have you not realized what unites THREE of the pictures you have posted in the last week? THEY ARE CIVIL WAR REENACTORS. They are around at this time EVERY YEAR. If you don’t like it, don’t look at them. But don’t act like they go around dressed like that all the time and deserve to be on your site. Idiots.
January 23rd, 2011
Wow, look what he found, the same type of coat the President George Washington wore crossing the Deleware. Maybe he was one of the oarsmen???
January 23rd, 2011
Yeah, another reenactor. A Confederate no less. You know, if his clothing is truly an exact replica of what they wore during the Civil War, he’s probably warmer than a lot of us. They used wool to make their uniforms back then and they were pretty warm.
January 23rd, 2011
Me? I think he looks quite dignified, distinguished, even. Though he’s a reeinactor (I guess), I feel if all of us put as much attention to detail and appearance most reeinactors put into their self-presentation regardless of gender, income, and/or age, the world would be a more visually appealing place.
January 23rd, 2011
One time my friend Al took me to the movies and we saw a Christmas movie. We wore glasses that made things come out at you and there were people like this in the movie. This reminded me of that.
January 23rd, 2011
Sherlock Holmes here had to try the Chef ‘Boy’RDee” raviolli to be certain it met with the “health standards” of 1887. It FAILED!
January 23rd, 2011
He’s not a re-enactor, he’s been in the store for 150 years looking for a “FRIENDLY wal-mart associate”
January 23rd, 2011
What!? They have wireless telegraph now?
January 23rd, 2011
Ok so the clothes are a bit archaic. Still he looks ok, the beard is groomed, and there is no buttcrack or naked gut to be seen. He gets a pass from me.
Had it been St,. Patricks Day he would have gotten bonus points.
January 23rd, 2011
He is a Civil War reenactor. He is wearing a Confederate great coat. Though the hat is wrong, he is probably at an event. My unit just got back from our company muster.
January 23rd, 2011
he did general lee in the parking lot
January 23rd, 2011
hey you overgrown troll the lucky chams are on the cerial isle
January 23rd, 2011
“Four score and seven months ago, our fathers brought forth to this Wal-Mart a new cell phone charger…”
January 23rd, 2011
It’s the former U.S. surgeon general, C.Everett Koop in a retro outfit. A very retro outfit.
January 24th, 2011
I’m guessing Scotland Yard has a Wii. There’s a game in his basket.
January 24th, 2011
You did it again. This guy is obviously a Civil War reenactor, just like that woman you made fun of. At least this guy is fully dressed, he’s not in pajamas, he doesn’t have poop-stained underwear hanging out, or urine bags hanging out, or a bare belly, or a butt-crack hanging out. This guy’s costume is great!
January 24th, 2011
Little did we know that when the South rose again they would smell like it. Good thing he stopped at the deoderant department.
January 24th, 2011
This dude looks awesome!
January 24th, 2011
Prarie Grove Battlefield. Look it up.
January 24th, 2011
Its easy to tell he is re-inacting. Because he got hold of the exact, and I MEAN the EXACT costume worn by one of the men. It clearly hadn’t been washed in a couple of centuries. But to him, thats the charm. His inspiration comes from the sweat and oil from the garment.
January 24th, 2011
Dude looks pretty f-n dashing if you ask me. I say, this is a win.
January 24th, 2011
That’s C. Everett Koop. I guess being Surgeon General wasn’t enough: he wanted to be a General in the Confederate Army too.
January 24th, 2011
Fore score and 150 years ago he was stylin’.
January 24th, 2011
It’s elementary my dear Watson….
January 24th, 2011
Uhm, the thing that bothers me most about this is that jacket. it seems he has an… arm pocket?
January 24th, 2011
he looks so cool!
January 24th, 2011
Did you say Abe Lincoln??
No!!! I said Hey Blinkin.
January 24th, 2011
That’s why the south lost, too busy shopping at Walmart
January 24th, 2011
He is AMISH! Im not just sayin this to be silly either.. He realy is! LOL.
January 24th, 2011
I was thinking either Civil War re-enactment or maybe… steampunk? Either way, nice coat!
FAIL, PoWM… EPIC FAIL!!!
January 25th, 2011
photo not that funny or weird, maybe he’s into reinactments or something, But what i think is hilarious is the Men In Tights reference in the title….loves it! And i read one commenter who got it. Awesome!
January 25th, 2011
Tell him he’s too late… the North already beat his side in that war.
January 25th, 2011
lol is he asleep?
January 25th, 2011
All I’ve got to say is…..interesting.
January 25th, 2011
Please stop putting reenactors on PoW. He’s with the local CWR group, not just some lost relic from the War of Northern Aggression.
January 25th, 2011
Hey! A Civil War veteran! Catch him before he hobbles away!
January 25th, 2011
“Oh Robin they cut your arms off, but you grew some really nice boobs”!….
January 26th, 2011
Im The Warped One,
If it were abe lincoln’s gay brother in drag, wouldn’t he look more like a woman? I dunno, i’m a drag king and its been my experience that whenever a gay male does that form of entertainment., the goal is to look more like a woman, so he’d prb nix the beard and go for a more of a dress instead of a civil war style overcoat.. nice try tho buddy..
January 26th, 2011
That jacket is totally awesome. And I’ve seen similar in plenty of higher end clothing stores.
January 26th, 2011
Obvious Civil War reenactor is obvious.
January 26th, 2011
Most brilliant example of steampunk I have seen in any Walmart yet!
January 29th, 2011
Hey they needed someone to go get more ingredients for more hard tack geez
January 29th, 2011
I said, hold the reigns, man!
February 1st, 2011
Wait, where’s Dr. Watson? Did he take lessons from Waldo?
February 1st, 2011
Maybe someone should let him know the South Lost the CIvil War
February 2nd, 2011
Wow!!! Thats a low price!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 15th, 2011
The South will rise again, just as soon as Johnny Reb selects the correct adapter.
March 1st, 2011
Def a War Between The States Reenactor! And by the way if you think thats a lot of buttons to fasten, remember this he also has to polish all of them also. And if he is in Uniform the wool coat he has on UNDER the Greatcoat also has a BUNCH of brass buttons also. On my Dress Uniform there are 16 brass buttons on the coat and 26 on the Greatcoat. Have had some wonderful conversations brought about by people asking about my uniform.
March 2nd, 2011
uh remember your not sherlock holmes so dont try!!!
March 6th, 2011

March 27th, 2011

January 18th, 2012
This guy was part of the “Mystery at the Museum” exhibit that was at the Little Rock Museum of Discovery for a time. It’s a traveling exhibit. He’s Sherlock Holmes. My kids loved him.
