Shoot, when Friskies goes on sale anywhere, I stock up. That stuff is expensive! My two cats go through about 14 cans per week. Regular price at my grocery store is 60 cents per can; if I find it at 40 cents or under you bet I stock up. The supply shown in the picture would last about a month in our household.

The only thing that I see wrong with this is why she didn’t just by cases unless she has picky eaters. At least she is taking care of her cats unlike some people that just breed and breed and then throw them out.

I say the picture is an epic fail- as somebody pointed out- she may be donating the cat food to a local animal shelter!!! I have a cat myself- and I see a good deal on cat food- sometimes I grab up and buy a bunch of it too- catfood is one thing that you can keep stocked up and takes a while to go bad on you!!! I prefer to think this person is either a major animal lover supporting a shelter , has to keep her fur babies well fed , there was an awesome sale so their stocking up or she had a bunch of coupons to use ! Those of you making rude comments obviously have no experience feeding pets. We have 3 cats and we have to buy 60-62 (2 per day) cans of food plus about 25 pounds of dry kibble per month I see no dry kibble there so if they feed only canned food to their pets (not a good idea, but some people do it) this could very well be food for just 1-2 kitties and a dog.

Awww… Maybe she just takes in strays and cares for them. My mom had about 10 cats at one time. They would just run loose and show up around our property. When we would feed them, they would become ours.
This was back in Oklahoma. I now live in Colorado. Whenever I go back there, I am amazed to see stray cats and dogs just running around the streets of town everywhere.

Looks to me like she’s a couponer–she appears to be holding a binder or folder of some kind. Chances are real good she found a great sale and paired them with coupons to get them free or close to it. I do stuff like that all the time and yeah, sometimes people look at me like I’m nuts but when I walk out of the store with $300 worth of groceries for less than $100, I just smile and walk away!

This photo should go to the fail website submitted as a PoW fail. I have 4 furballs. I don’t feed them canned food because it makes my oldest sick immediately. But I go through one of the large bags of Friskies Indoor Formula a month, and 4-5 jugs of litter. Therefore I too must be a crazy cat lady OMG! Honestly PoW so quick to judge, just like whoever submitted the pic. If I had spare money I would absolutely buy that many cans for my local shelter.

Dude, my hubby and I take care of the “wild” cats in our neighborhood, plus 7 of our own — all rescues, including 1 special needs — and used to buy that much wet food every 2 weeks. We still do on occasion, when we want to treat them. But mostly these days we buy huge bags of grain-free kibble from a local farm supply store.
Does that make us “unkempt” “crazy cat people”? Nah. We’re just trying to be good stewards for the creatures that cross our path. But do we like animals more than people? Yep. That’s largely because of folks like some of those here, who leap at every chance to denigrate others (and in PoWM’s case, even make a living at it).

As a former Walmart associate; I can tell you that the one I worked at didn’t like people buying canned pet food by the case. This is for two reasons:
1. The cases aren’t marked for bulk sale. Management prefers that we at least bust the case open, enter the number of units, then scan one of the units.
2. The above technique can, and sometimes does, screw up Perpetual Inventory. As a result, a lot of Walmart stores won’t even let you buy by the case. It depends on the management of that particular store.
I used to buy a 45lb bag of Purina Cat Chow and 2 cases of 9Lives every month for my cats when I had them; and I only had two, so quit judging!

Can’t count the dog food but appears to be about 50-60 cans of cat food. About a month’s supply for two cats, assuming they’re supplementing dry food at one can a day per cat. Or maybe they have a very old cat with no teeth that can’t chew dry food any more.
Find a sale and coupons at the same time it’s worth stocking up – pet food is expensive – more than tuna sometimes.

This is a boring pic. I agree with most comments. This person could be fostering, working in a shelter, buying for a neighbor, stocking up for the month. I take care of five feral cats and can easily purchase this much food. In addition, I have two rescues so its no hard to fathom. She could be doing a good deed!

When there is a sale on the brand my 3 cats eat, I’m all over that. My cats just get 1/3 of a can of fancy feast a day and the remainder of their diet is dry food. My cats live well into their teens and one that was nearly 20 years old and with all their teeth. So I’m buying 30 cans a month. Some people only feed their cats canned food for dietary or teeth problems so they probably feed one can twice a day per cat. It’s a lot of food.
