Going Green
Okay, I’m no Al Gore but I’m pretty sure gluing fur to your van does not count as “going green.” Although I do drive a gas-guzzler, burn styrofoam for heat, and still use deodorant in an aerosol can, so maybe it does count.

It is green fake fur, from WalMart, and cost $1 a yard, applied with contact cement. The owner told me that it was cheaper than a paint job, is two years old, and has withstood rain, snow, and going 90 mph in Chicago.

hahah! That GOTTA be at the Joplin Wal-Mart! I used to go to school in Joplin and I saw that van around town a few times, including on campus. The last time I saw it, it had tan fur but it was getting pretty ratty so the owner must have “upgraded” to green.
As far as I can tell, the owner uses shag carpeting.

It actualy may reduce friction on the vehicle the same way it does for animals. By draging the air with them it creates less friction, air moving over air creates less drag then air moving over metal. It’s not easy to understand but it’s the same concept that changed the paint on sail boat hulls to a rough surface instead of smooth paint.

It doesn’t smell. It’s shag fur and used to be aqua-blue not tan, then it faded to white, yes, it was upgraded to green with the intention to add easter eggs during Easter. It’s a work vehicle and the tire is not bent, it’s where the neighbor boys got creative with silver paint. No, it was not broken down at the side of the road. It is in the shop to replace a fuel filter as of last Thursday. Yes, it’s very ghetto, but I love the van and don’t have the heart to get rid of it yet. If you would like to talk “art” cars or help with the next project, let me know. It’s been through seven changes in 6 yrs. Forgive the rude comments above, Jon is defending me to a person that we’ve had words with before. You really don’t want to know what I feel. As I said before, it’s just meant to make someone smile and scratch their head. I just hope some pyscho person doesn’t come looking for it. Great creative comments everyone, thanks for some smiles and cringes.
