Killing Two Birds With One Stone
I’m not a parent, so I could only imagine having to push one of those shitty Walmart carts with only two functioning wheels as well as your kid in a stroller. It’s not like your little guy is moving that thing Fred Flintsone-style, so you aren’t depriving him of exercise. I’ll let you sound off your opinion in the comments on the matter.

This is all well and good until dad puts a case of Bud in junior’s lap.

They must not have shopping carts with the front folding child seat in his country
September 2nd, 2011
BRILLIANT!
September 2nd, 2011
Uhh… it would have been easier to just leave the stroller in the car and carry the kid in, then put him in the child seat of the cart.
September 2nd, 2011
He had to put the kid in the cart and turned around so he could keep an eye on him to make sure they weren’t lifting the same items/necessities. It’s the only way you can scheme with a toddler
September 2nd, 2011
Those strollers fold up, and they take up less space when you put them in the cart folded, and the kid sits in the seat near the shopping cart handle. He either can’t figure that out, or the stroller’s broken.
September 2nd, 2011
I’m curious to see how much stuff she can get on top of the kid…
September 2nd, 2011
Genius. He didn’t have to take the kid out of the stroller. The kid is strapped into his seat and can’t put his mouth on the Walmart Cart.
But, I really love Sir Hates Alot comment. And since it is Walmart. It could happen.
September 2nd, 2011
Hey! Dad out shopping with a kid. A NORMAL Dad. NORMAL kid. Yay!!
Best POWM pic in a long time.
September 2nd, 2011
I think this is actually a pretty good idea, a lot easier then taking the kid out and folding up the stroller, especially if the shopper is just picking up a few things but it does make me think twice about what has been in the cart (how dirty are those wheels) that I am putting my food in.
September 2nd, 2011
Not to be a wet blanket, but this guy can’t push a stroller and a cart at the same time, and the baby is probably too young and small to sit upright in the seat area of the cart, so it must stay in the stroller.
September 2nd, 2011
I dunno, how about people actually carry them in the store? Wear them in a sling or a backpack if you’re walking? I don’t see why Americans insist on lugging 384 pounds of plastic “convenience” items with them everywhere just to avoid actually holding their own children. /endrant
September 2nd, 2011
Looks like a cute Grandpa just using “Grandpa Engineering.” Adorbs! <3
September 2nd, 2011
i wonder if its the same people that put the baby in stroller in the bed of the pick up last month. that was in florida also.
September 2nd, 2011
Get a hitch and chain for the cart, connect the stroller, and push.
September 2nd, 2011
lessee…..
person had to pick the entire thing up to deposit it in the cart.
Not smart nor safe.
And yep, they collapse. that’s why they call them umbrella strollers. they open and close, are lightweight…. Not worth a crap when using to keep rain off of your head, however. Very cumbersome for that…
To whomever suggested that the baby’s not old enough to sit in the cart – if they’re old enough to be pushed around in an umbrella stroller, they’re old enough to sit up in a cart. if they weren’t old enough, they should be in a baby bucket, the infant carrier that SHOULD be in the back seat of this person’s car. They lift out of the car, have an easy carry handle, and can be placed in seat part of cart.
Or.. forget all that and just look at the pic, the kid’s a toddler.
And since someone was strong enough to dead lift the entire thing into the cart, they were probably strong enough to just carry the kid into the store.
Seems rather stupid, and not safe getting the stroller in and out..
And as someone else said, what happens when they actually want to put purchases, budweiser or anything else, IN the cart?
September 2nd, 2011
Jeez, Patrick, go get laid or drunk or something…..
September 2nd, 2011
Look, the kid is not in danger (rare in POWM pictures), everyone is dressed in clothing that (1) fits, (2) covers everything and (3) gender appropriate (also rare).
Maybe Grandpa is helping out and has no idea how it folds up. He took the time to make sure everything is safe for the kid.
I say give Grandpa a break and also applause for being willing to spend time with the next generation.
September 2nd, 2011
Hooray for Rachel! Poor Gramps probably has no idea how to fold up that thing. (Hint: it was designed by a committee – from the government.) He’s doing the best he can and spending some time with the young ones. The kid’s happy and safe.
Nothing to see here. Move along. Go play in traffic with Patrick.
September 2nd, 2011
Today’s Rollback…buy the stroller and get a kid free!
September 2nd, 2011
I wonder if this guy is related to the lady on the news last week who had the kid in the stroller riding in the back of a speeding pickup truck when the police caught it on camera…..
September 2nd, 2011
Hey there’s no way Jr. can pick anything spillable or breakable & no way the stroller can tip. WIN! Good job, Granddad! As far as the Gramps & baby shopping together, that’s toooooo cuuuuteeeee!!!
September 2nd, 2011
Lazy ass parent could have folded stroller and moved baby
September 2nd, 2011
I’m more focused in on dude’s ugly slippers.
September 2nd, 2011
Been there, done that. The kid is in a cleaner seat. Think about how nasty those cart seats are. Blood from meat packages and other kids asses have been in that thing. And the child’s face, hands and mouth are away from the hand bar, which has got the crud of thousands of walcreatures all over it. +1.
September 3rd, 2011
So what … The other day while shopping I saw some guy with 2 kids both would’ve been under 5 both hanging off the side of a fully packed trolly and the guy managed to tip the whole thing on top of both of the kids
September 3rd, 2011
Oh for the love of God….put the kid in the front section of the cart and fold up the umbrella stroller! I mean really? And if you are that worried about germs on the seats..how about wiping it down with a antibacterial wipe huh?
September 3rd, 2011
At least the stroller isn’t being dragged behind a motorized cart.
September 3rd, 2011
Wow-must be a slow news day.
As others have already pointed out:
-Appropriate clothing all around
-Male family member bonding with young one
-Child safer in stroller than in nasty cart-can’t tip over, can’t grab anything and can’t put mouth to cart (bleah)
-Male family member most likely doesn’t know how to fold the stroller. Hell, I KNOW how to do it and still pinched my fingers a few times!!
Win all around…really stretched it on this one.
Better luck next time
September 3rd, 2011
buy a stroller, get a kid free … only at WalMart
September 3rd, 2011
Who KNOWS what he’s wheeled that stroller through and now I am going to put my food and/or clothing in there????? No telling what happens in those shopping carts, IE: poopy diapers, etc.
September 3rd, 2011
I hate that I know why he did this. My daughter refuses to sit in the cart but does quite well in a stroller but even our large stroller isn’t big enough to cart what is on my list. However, now that the stroller is in the cart, where is he going to put everything? Underneath?
September 3rd, 2011
i dont understand? Did they need the stroller for the LONG walk in to the store? Why not just carry the baby in? And if they did walk and not drive to the store then again the stroller folds up. SPECIAL!!!
September 3rd, 2011
Thinks Patrick has never had children!! LOL
September 3rd, 2011
It’s a brilliant way to get a free stroller. Kudos.
September 3rd, 2011
Maybe the kid threw a fit when Grampa tried to take him out of the stroller. There are days when I would do anything to make my kids happy so they aren’t screaming their heads off in the middle of the isles in wally world!!
September 3rd, 2011
Actually I can understand it. Why would you want your baby to touch God knows what on those carts? He is safe..he is not exposed to nasty stuff on the cart…I totally get it.
September 3rd, 2011
Baby secure? (check) stroller secure (check) if i had my choice id have to say the stroller seats a more comfortable seat than the cart provides. As 4 wiping the cart handle down with wipes ? Gross,…. I still would not put my mouth on it nor my child’s. We can’t speculate on where he plans on putting his purchased items because we do not know what or how much he plans on purchasing. As a father of 4 i give 2 thumbs up to this guys ingenuity.
September 3rd, 2011
Did it occur to anyone that maybe dad or gramps or whoever he is walked to the store just to pick up a thing or two? Not everybody has a car.
September 3rd, 2011
Foriduh nuff said lol
September 3rd, 2011
How much is that monkey that comes with the stroller??
September 3rd, 2011
I’d rather my kid sit in his stroller than the nasty Walmart shopping cart. Those carts are crawling with bacteria !!
September 3rd, 2011
Kid was asleep and rather than wake him up…….
September 3rd, 2011
Maybe she’s buying a baby…or returning one?!
September 3rd, 2011
I am a mom. My son has that same stroller. We put him in the front seat of the cart. If this child was too young to be in the front he shouldn’t be in that stroller either. Because this stroller is meant for toddlers.
September 3rd, 2011
Hey, yeah, there’s a good idea. Let’s roll the kids stroller in all kinds of unsanitary crap, and then put it in the freaking cart where someone will put their food. Hey, look over there, there’s a pile of dog crap. Johnny, go grab it, and put it in with the apples. Moron!
September 3rd, 2011
Daddy is a male sandalwearer fag?
September 4th, 2011
Walmart sells everything that kid came with the stroller at a roll back price.
September 4th, 2011
Nah, they are selling nappy-headed kids in strollers on isle 5 now. Haven’t you people heard?
September 4th, 2011
Gotta love the dirty-ass, Afro grease stain behind the kids head… Dis-gust-ing.
September 4th, 2011
thinks Paterick should put a sock in it!
September 4th, 2011
A smart guy! Keeps the little kid from running around, raising hell, getting hurt, putting their mouth on the handlebar, and this guy’s probably tired of bending over everytime the kid needs something. The wife’s probably got the other cart with the groceries. As for anyone complaining about the inside of the cart do you go home and lick the bottoms of your jars and stuff (?) AKA shut up!
September 4th, 2011
ABSOLUTELY Nothing wrong here. The kid is comfy and safer like this . Its just a grandpa being smart and safe. I’d do this if I’d thought of it. Good grand parenting is all that’s in this pic.
September 4th, 2011
Pretty clever if you ask me. This way the kid isn’t chewing on the seatbelts on the cart (if they even work) that every other kid has chewed on.
September 4th, 2011
Why worry about the nasty stroller wheels? Everything in the vicinity has already been in the cart on the bottoms of little kid’s shoes…..and you know what little kids like to jump in any chance they get…..anything they shouldn’t.
September 5th, 2011
I must really be some supermom. I managed to sit my son in the front seat of the cart, and not have him once put his mouth on the handle. Nor try to cliimb out and grab stuff. For one reason, I never walked away from the cart and left him sitting there. Apparently collapsing the stroller and sliding it onto the bottom of the cart, require to much brainpower for this person.
September 6th, 2011
Apparently, this guy doesn’t know this is America, where there are foldout toddler-seats in shopping carts. What most peole do in Zaire is not done in this country, bub!!
September 6th, 2011
to DRED of course he is big enough to hold himself up to be in the child seat of the shopping cart. if he is big enough to be put in one of those strollers than he is big enough to go in the child seat of the shopping cart
September 7th, 2011
as far as the child seat in the shopping cart being dirty. they make these cloth things that you put on the seat and it covers the entire area. I believe they call them a floppy? that way you child never touches the dirty cart
September 7th, 2011
i happen to think this isn’t too bad of an idea seems like a pretty good to me but im from virginia and sometimes i go to walmart not looking or acting my best so i guess if you caught a pic of me you would be making fun of me to so who am i to judge these people? I have seen worse trust me!
September 10th, 2011
Not to serve up some haterade on this dad but this is NOT genius and all of you who claim it is either are not parents or are just plain retarded. If the kid is too small to sit upright it’s called a CARSEAT and they easily click into the part of the cart where a child who can sit upright would sit. This is just an accident waiting to happen and there is nowhere to put the groceries/stuff you went in to purchase when you have a a child AND a stroller in there! Just dumb!
September 10th, 2011
Oh and if whoever this person is did walk to the store just to pick up a thing or two then why the need for the shopping car in the first place? Hmmmm?
September 10th, 2011
Putting the bucket infant seat onto the toddler seat of the cart is not recommended by either the cart manufacturer nor the car seat manufacturers. When that is done the cart can and often does tip over.
The instruction manual on the car seat says not to do that. The fact that the seat “clicks” in is just a coincidence. It is not actually locking the seat into place and does not stop the cart from tipping over.
September 13th, 2011
At least he’s with his kid
September 19th, 2011
Wish I had thought to do this when mine was that small. Seems better than trying to prop him up in the seat of the cart if he’s too small to sit up on his own, or letting him put his mouth all over the nasty cart handle.
September 22nd, 2011
for the people saying it make the cart dirty put that in their i worked for wal mart. ur clothes come in the same truck as cow sh*t bug spray oils cleaners and fishing bait ps the clothes get spray with bug spray at the warehouse.
October 4th, 2011
Let’s ALL be honest with ourselves, whatever the reason, only a man would do this. SORRY GUYS! lol
October 12th, 2011
That’s not such a bad idea…for everybody with their negative comments, my grandson is disabled and can’t sit in the seat of the cart without shoving blankets around him and still it doesn’t work very well. Thumbs up to this Dad for making work for him.
