My sister lives in Florence where this happened. He was intoxicated and trying to steal stuff, including things out of other people’s carts. He became beligerent when the poilce started to corner him, and tried to run, thus the taser.

I can’t imagine anything anyone could do at China-Mart that would necessitate tasering. Tasering is a last resort before actually shooting someone. Poor dude has been hit with the taser and the cop still feels the need to put his knee into his back? Looks like excessive use of force to me. Wish I knew exactly where this took place.

Here’s the story on this shocked shopper…
A shopper at Walmart in Florence was stunned with a Taser gun and arrested around 11 p.m. Friday. Authorities said the man became unruly when a police officer attempted to question him about his behavior.
Florence Police Lt. Tim Wooten said the shopper was having difficulty walking and appeared to be intoxicated. When the officer attempted to escort the shopper out of the crowded store for questioning, the man attempted to break away from the officer and became belligerent, police said.
Wooten said the officer was forced to use his Taser to control him.
The man was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanor charges.

LOL I grew up in that area but don’t live there anymore. Apparently, an idiot standing in line gets belligerent. Cops are called, idiot gets worse. Cop ends up having to tazer said idiot. Idiot is then charged for public drunk, resisting arrest and anything else they can think of
. It’s funny that almost all of the problems associated with Black Friday happen at Wal-Mart.

I live in the city where this took place!! Was actually in the store when it happened! This guy was very drunk and was bumping into customers and causing all kinds of problems. He resisted arrest and tried to hit a cop. There was no excessive force. The cops did what they had to do to get this moron under control!!
