Cena holds the record for make-a-wish foundation meetings, and seems like an all around good human being.
And even though wrestling is staged with the outcomes predetermined, it still takes one hell of an athlete to toss around 250lb + men for 300 days a year or more, with no off-season and a hellacious travel schedule, not to mention all the “bumps” they take, day after day.

Indeed. Cena might be horrible in the ring, but outside of it he works incredibly hard for Make-A-Wish, among other things – and for that he has my utmost respect. It’s his stale-as-hell gimmick I hate.

He’s at Wal-Mart because he goes where WWE sends him for promotional tours, autograph signings, interviews and so forth. Wal-Mart sells a lot of WWE merchandise, and is frequented by mothers and their kids. Having Cena at Wal-Mart makes incredible sense; he’ll be promoting WWE AND Wal-Mart whilst at the same time promoting himself to mothers and children everywhere through is generosity and friendly, easy going demeanor.
Its a win three ways. Why WOULDN’T you have Cena at a Wal-Mart in this case?

He has grown stale but is still popular with the little kids. Most of the WWE fans want to see him take some time off or change his character because he has been doing the same crap for 7 years.
He’s not in Ric Flair territory yet, he’s more Hogan in 1993 when everyone was just sick and tired of his shtick.
Outside of wrestling he’s a great guy that does an immense amount of charity. I commend him for that, but the fact that the WWE has to resort to playing video packages of him doing this stuff during their programming shows how desperate they are to keep him popular with the fans. It kind of kills the whole altruistic nature of the charity he does, in my opinion.

I don’t follow wrestling but I can say this guy is one of a kind. I saw him in the Dallas airport. He was getting on my flight. Some soldiers were talking to him and getting pics made. When the plane took off, he came to the back of the plane and had a soldier take his seat in first class! What a class act.
