many years ago , my great -aunt (living in Holland) had hair ~7ft long , she grew it because her hubby said he loved long hair , the stipulation apparently was that he had to look after it – and he did . he washed it , dried, brushed it out and put it up in a bun . when he passed, she cut it way shorter because she really didnt like it that long, but put up with it for love for ~50yrs
