Poor mothers in the projects tried to stretch their dollar as far as they could, buying larger shirts and pulling their kid’s pants down so they didn’t look like floods.
Eventually, it became the “in” style due to the influence of urban culture on suburban america and now it is grossly exaggerated.
So, jackasses like the one pictured are going for the “my momma can’t ‘fford new pants” look while actually paying way too much for the current “fashion trend”. So he’s an idiot on two levels.
While sagging did gain its start in the U.S. prison system, it was not a clothes-wearing style authored by imprisoned homosexuals intent upon advertising their interest in casual flings. Sagging pants became the behind-the-bars thing thanks to ill-fitting prison-issue garb: some of those incarcerated were provided with clothing a few sizes too large. That oversizing, coupled with the lack of belts in the big house, led to a great number of jailbirds whose pants were falling off their arses. (Belts are not permitted in most correctional facilities because all too often the lifeless bodies of their inmate owners have been found hanging from them.)

Having worked with inmates/prisoners the reason their pants are too large is because the guard asks the inmate/prisoner what size do you wear, no measurements are taken only the inmates/prisoners word, and they tell the guard a size that is rediculously to large. This is a shame and a disgrace. I have no problem telling them to pull their pants up that I AM OFFENDED! There is a law in some places against this lewd dressing style.
Not one person should be subjected to someones “dirty” underwear. I also call people on ugly words they shouldn’t be using especially in public, in front of senior citizens, small children and especially impressionable preteens and teenagers. We must take a stand, bad choices and bad behavior should not be tolerated by anyone. The innocent public should not be subjected to such lewd behaviors. This kinda looks staged to me. Guys with shorts sagging that low wouldn’t have their wife beater bunched way up around their waist or be wearing boxers that tight. His tank would be pulled down to his hips and his xl boxers (over another pair of smaller boxers or underwear that actually fit) would be bloused out under that and then the size 40 waist shorts would be around the tops of his thighs secured with a belt. Since guys don’t have curvy thighs, it still isn’t enough to keep them from sliding down, and they have to hold them up when they walk. These shorts are so big and low on his thighs they couldn’t possibly stay up, even if he was just standing still. If it’s not staged, his homies need to let him know he ain’t doing it right.

To Ghost: I think that you might be mistaken that undercover police officers stared this fad. (1) It started in prison as an invitation for anal relations (2) most thug shits don’t wear their pants this low (3) when they do run they only use one arm to jump fences, stay balanced, whatever while the other (usually their left) is used to fist their pants at the waist. This leaves their right hand free for their gun if they have one. The left hand, while securing the pants, can also secure the gun until it is safe to ditch it. I have seen guys wearing their shorts this low run before and a few of them did trip but mostly they just run out of their shorts (as wells as their shoes since they’re too lazy to tie them) and leave them in a backyard somewhere. It’s easier to find these guys if you loose sight of them since they leave a trail of clothing that can be found by the stench of pitbull crap and cheap liquor/beer.

I can’t believe there’s still THAT much racism and prejudice in the US! Do you guys realize that a notable number of the posters here immediately labeled this guy as a jobless, lazy, thief, with no/bad credit, who has drugs on him as well as warrants out for him?!
Don’t get me wrong – I think the short thing is ridiculous too. But your nasty stereotypes are inexcusable and much more offensive and aggressive than his style! You talk about how indecent exposure is immoral and how this guy should be arrested on the spot, without even the chance to defend himself, yet you yourself commit to a slew of racist remarks and parade your utter hatred and fear (!) of this person based on only two things:
1. low shorts
2. pre-paid cell phones.
a little f*ckin’ absurd, no? FIne – the shorts are a bit too low. OK. Perhaps someone should make a remark to him, but nothing more than that! And if anyone is to comment on his stupid shorts, then something should be said to all the other freaks of wal-mart too, indiscriminately.

Poor mothers in the projects tried to stretch their dollar as far as they could, buying larger shirts and pulling their kid’s pants down so they didn’t look like floods.
Eventually, it became the “in” style due to the influence of urban culture on suburban america and now it is grossly exaggerated.
So, jackasses like the one pictured are going for the “my momma can’t ‘fford new pants” look while actually paying way too much for the current “fashion trend”. So he’s an idiot on two levels.

Having worked with inmates/prisoners the reason their pants are too large is because the guard asks the inmate/prisoner what size do you wear, no measurements are taken only the inmates/prisoners word, and they tell the guard a size that is rediculously to large. This is a shame and a disgrace. I have no problem telling them to pull their pants up that I AM OFFENDED! There is a law in some places against this lewd dressing style.
Not one person should be subjected to someones “dirty” underwear. I also call people on ugly words they shouldn’t be using especially in public, in front of senior citizens, small children and especially impressionable preteens and teenagers. We must take a stand, bad choices and bad behavior should not be tolerated by anyone. The innocent public should not be subjected to such lewd behaviors. This kinda looks staged to me. Guys with shorts sagging that low wouldn’t have their wife beater bunched way up around their waist or be wearing boxers that tight. His tank would be pulled down to his hips and his xl boxers (over another pair of smaller boxers or underwear that actually fit) would be bloused out under that and then the size 40 waist shorts would be around the tops of his thighs secured with a belt. Since guys don’t have curvy thighs, it still isn’t enough to keep them from sliding down, and they have to hold them up when they walk. These shorts are so big and low on his thighs they couldn’t possibly stay up, even if he was just standing still. If it’s not staged, his homies need to let him know he ain’t doing it right.

To Ghost: I think that you might be mistaken that undercover police officers stared this fad. (1) It started in prison as an invitation for anal relations (2) most thug shits don’t wear their pants this low (3) when they do run they only use one arm to jump fences, stay balanced, whatever while the other (usually their left) is used to fist their pants at the waist. This leaves their right hand free for their gun if they have one. The left hand, while securing the pants, can also secure the gun until it is safe to ditch it. I have seen guys wearing their shorts this low run before and a few of them did trip but mostly they just run out of their shorts (as wells as their shoes since they’re too lazy to tie them) and leave them in a backyard somewhere. It’s easier to find these guys if you loose sight of them since they leave a trail of clothing that can be found by the stench of pitbull crap and cheap liquor/beer.
