Padiddle?

I’m not an expert (nor am I from the sloopy state) but I can’t imagine how it could be legal to drive around with a flashlight for a headlight.

In all seriousness, Ohio simply doesn’t do the vehicle inspections that more… civilized… states have. Plan and simple they allow junk on the road and there’s vehicles that are death traps on wheels. I’ve seen people open their doors and STICK THEIR FEET OUT AND SLOW THE CAR DOWN because they must have had no brakes… wtf?! I guess I go spoiled living in states that required vehicle inspections!

to indicate direction??? Doing emergency flashers could be fatal.

Come on peoples, as stated by others, headlights are only required at night. Hand signals can be used in most, if not every state for turning, so there you go! As for the flash lights, they’re only probably for chasing possums or something, which also is legal in many states! -:)

Jarrod, Ohio doesn’t require headlights to be on when raining/wipers are on in the daytime. I can’t tell you how much fun it is to drive in torrential rain and nearly have your car wrecked countless times because people don’t have their headlights on and you can’t see them. I’m hoping to get out of here soon! This state’s gonna kill me!

Yeah, Ohio is the suck state, but as others have mentioned…not all of us are horrible, dirty rednecks. Just the majority of the people living here. I lived in North Carolina for awhile and it’s definitely worse sometimes. I feared for my life in Fayetteville’s Wal-marts…but in Ohio, I just fear for my sense of smell and my eyeballs…

This is almost as intelligent as the guy in Michigan that duck-taped a flashlight to his motorcycle handlebars when his headlight burned out and then took it out on a five lane highway in the middle of the night. He actually hit a car that didn’t see him and turned in front of him. At least this guy has vehicle size on his side.

1. Ohio DOES require headlights when it’s raining (I know this cause I unfortunately just moved back here from VA where it’s required) and they made me take the TEMP test again to get my license.
2. Ohio does have vehicle inspections – but they only use them as an excuse to pull people over when they think it might be a DUI but they want to get close enough to see if they can smell the booze (again, at least in VA we had inspections and emissions testing!!)
As for the rest…well…I saw a truck last week with *4* different tires – the one on the driver’s side was meant for a car and the whole truck was out of whack and my brother and I nearly killed ourselves laughing

This is funny. I hate to admit it, but most of you from Ohio aren’t doing a very good job defending our state (wrong spellings, wrong information). I’ve lived in central Ohio and currently in northern Ohio. Columbus wasn’t so bad, but I would have to agree with the people about northern Ohio. I complain constantly about people not knowing how to drive up here. Then I found out that they don’t offer driver’s education in the high schools, and most cannot afford to send their kids to private organizations, so they just wait until they are 18 to get their licenses and have absolutely no training what so ever. We’re not all morons, but there are many many many who prove my point to be incorrect. Sometimes I wish I was from somewhere else. I can’t even be a NFL fan, because the Browns suck and trying to like another team here will just get you beat.

ok, ok.. this Ohio hating is nuts. EVERYONE has their share of idiots running around, we can’t contain stupidity. But to delegate it to the entire state? That’s just rude:P I’m from Toledo but went to college in southern Ohio so it’s fair to say I have a decent view of the north and south.. we are by FAR not the fattest state, nor the ugliest. Ever notice how many movies and TV shows take place in Ohio? It’s said to be the most representative state of the nation, as far as accents, income, education, etc. Not sure about race (white people everywhere!) or Chargers (I have no clue where you got that fact, man). But, coming from someone who calls himself ‘DMoney,’ I have no idea why I felt the need to defend my state:P

You know I once did this when I had an electrical problem with the lights on my car. It was in the middle of the night, on a snowy night on a highway in the middle of no where. I happend to have two large Maglights with me and to get me to the next town where I had planned to stop for the night, I duct taped them to the side of my fenders, turned them on and drove the last half hour to the town. They worked VERY well. The next morning I went to the towns local garage and had the problem fixed. The guy at the garage laughed his ass off but told me he would have done the same thing. I still keep one of those lights and a roll of tape in my emergency kit in the trunk. You never know.

Spanksfan, you suck, and Ohio does have vehicle inspections, IF you are registering a vehicle previously registered in another state. Also, in the north east, I assure you there are as many if not more ignorant white trash folk as Ohio get a clue. I don’t know if you are claiming New York as a “the north east”, If so, Allegheny County, Chautauqua County, Erie County, Niagara County, Wyoming County, Orleans County, Gennesee County, Monroe, C’mon, you really think the whole state gets to claim Saks =Fith Avenue sophistication? These idiots haven’t even learned how to put reflectors in the lane markings for reduced visibility driving conditions. Ohio has ‘em, (between a lot of the pothole displays/roads)
And Shawna, please, I don’t want to here such crap from a Pennsyl-Tuckan, cause “yins” got no room to talk trash about Ohio, your mirror image state.

It’s obvious what happened here: the front-end ripped off during his DWI, at which point he lost his license. And if you’re driving without a license, what’s the point of fixing your headlights–you’ll already get it in the impound. Plus, that case of Busch lite isn’t going to deliver itself to your doorstep.

Although I was not born in Ohio (my dad was in the Army), I was raised here. And honestly, there is a good chance that the person who did that at least attended the same high school as me. Most of the people where I am from are rednecks and that’s something that you learn to love. It’s a source of entertainment for me. I live in a hay field and there’s a corn field in my back yard and I have fourteen horses. But, when you live in Ohio you learn to love all its little quirks. We have sucky weather, so you learn to love the rain and the fact that it was forty degrees last night and seventy today. I’m proud to be a Buckeye, no matter what.

Stop ripping on Ohio. Yeah there are some morons here, but just flip through some of the other photos on this website and you’ll see plenty of morons that live in your own state.

Ok seriously if you guys think Ohio is redneck you should take a trip to Montana now that’s redneck. I should know I’m originally from Ohio. Its all cowboy hats and beat to shit trucks out here. We only have 1 Walmart in the entire part of the eastern side of the state. So comparing I think Ohio is way far from redneck.

I see that all the time in Ashtabula County in Ohio, most of the vehicles there are held together by bubblegum and cardboard. The flashlight is an interesting accessory the flashlight, should get a commendation for ingenuity

Ohio doesn’t require annual state inspections. Cars like this (okay, maybe not exactly like this… It’s a bit much. xD) drive around Ohio all the time.
