In 98 or 99 the Leesville, Louisiana walmart had a contest for a Wal-mart wedding! We ended up shopping the day of the wedding. The bride came out of the dressing room, her daugther was a flower girl and the rings were from the jewelry department. It was a total white trash wedding!

In response to the Sam’s club, it’s not Sam’s Club. I worked as a CSM for a few yrs and that’s the back room of a Wal-Mart. The receiving area is warehouse style. I knew a few ex co workers who got married at my old store. Yes, they were redneck. They got married by the registers (she was a cashier). I’m guessing someone out of that couple works in receiving. Oh and they do ‘borrow’ things from other departments to decorate too. So yeah, those are probably Wal-Mart bags around the plants.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves. This couple that decided to have there wedding at Wal-Mart had their reasons for wanting to. Just because its not in a church or pavilion does not make it trashy or unholy. There is a saying.. “To each their own”. If this is what that couple wanted then so be it. It is not our place to state that it is redneck, white trash, trashy or any other derogatory statement.
I personally would not choose this location for a wedding, but I hope that this couple has many great years together, live a long and happy life and I also wish them the best of luck.

To sad, but true. I and my son and daughter walked into our local WalMart not to long ago ..straight into the garden center and right into a wedding being set up. I couldn’t believe it. To top it off, was to hear an employee say ..as she hurried down the aisle…I hope I am not to late for the vows. actually, walmart implemented a supposed morale boost, after it noticed that alot of employees would meet at work and fall in love. so, they said if you meet at walmart, fall in love and decide to get married, that if you want to you can have your wedding in the garden center, and walmart pays for it. so, it was a way of helping out their associates(with something that can cost alot) and also a way of kinda bringing itself attention.

This is probably one of the worst pics on this site…i just have so much to say. First of all the whole things look very “thrown together”. Nothing matches: the dresses dont match each other and they are not the same style or length, which doesnt look on purpose like some ppl do. The dresses are lavender and the “flowers” are some hideous shade of pink. It looks like they are shoved in some corner of the store. The bride looks like 40 or older and so i am pretty sure this is not her first wedding……that is the ugliest dress i have ever seen. It does not flatter her and there is no way that any normal person would spend any time trying on dresses and then settle on a dress that was so unflattering. and one more thing…..it is just not a good sign when the picture of your wedding cake has a bbq grill in the background.
