This is so not weird. I’ve worn some really crazy things in public. I’ve gone into small town convenience stores wearing full cosplay costumes (for those of you who don’t know what cosplay is, its dressing up as a character from a tv series, movie, comic book, etc.) on my way back from anime convention. I also wear some pretty crazy visual kei outfits when i go out to bars just for the WTF looks I get from people, and trust me…. you get a lot of those in rural Iowa.

PANTHERMAN: a drone? Are you kidding? So because someone decides to wear a tail at Wal-mart makes them original and clever. I seem to read a lot of comments on here about people wearing tails in public so how is that original if lots of Furries do it? If an entire sub-group does it, it’s not very clever now is it? I am most certainly not a drone but I don’t feel it’s necessary to flaunt my resistance to mainstream culture by wearing a garish accessory. Try being a foreigner in the USA, then you’ll understand. While I have no problem with people dressing as they please, just because you’re a furry does not make you special. I can’t tell you how many people seem to go brain dead when I start speaking because of my accent. Lots of people get gawked at; People with pimentation issues, people with non-natural coloured hair, people with lots of tattoos among many others things. Give it a break, you do anything a little strange and people react with interest. Don’t judge us so harshly, we’re all humans with a genetic predispostion to ascribe to the mainstream culture because deviants generally didn’t make it in most of human history. There are many people in the world who are actually harmed for being different and not necessarily by choice. Unless Furries are being assaulted for dressing differently, get over yourself.
