This is the only doctor you will ever see driving around in a 2-tone P.O.S. sitting on donuts. Also, thank you for letting me know how many milliliters there are.

Companies pay people to have their company name and logo on cars. It is called a moving billboard. The folks are paid so much a month. I haven’seen any cars this old and in bad shape before. The companies generally will not put their ad on a car that is over 5 years old.

This guy is a genius. He bought the former promotional car after the company sold it off cheap, and put a replacement panel on it. He probably saved enough to buy lots of Dr. Pepper, and he can always find his car in the largest parking lot.

While I don’t condone the driving of cars looking like this, unfortunately all some people out there can afford are the POS’s that corporations used to drive around in the 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s and sold to the general public dirt cheap. Thanks, Corporate America. Willing to bet either “Mr. See-Through White Bike Shorts” or “Mr. Pink Spider” drive this beauty….

To everyone that thinks they’re getting paid for the advertisement – unfortunately, you’re wrong. I just read a story in the Raleigh news and Observer about this new trend of putting a company logo, name, info, etc. on cars, usually a DONK. They interviewed a guy with a Skittles car, and it was all done up, nice paint job, 75″ wheels, etc. And he made it clear that he receives nothing from Skittles – it’s just a fad. Or something.
Granted, this car is pretty crappy, so it may in fact just a be an old business car or something.

While it is funny to see a Dr Pepper car, I doubt this person bought a two-tone car and spent all of his/her money to paint Dr Pepper on 3/4 of it. So give the person a break. The car looks like it is in good condition and drives well. So laugh about the great logo, but not about the person’s inability to purchase hubcaps and a new paint job (at least for the front end).
It is fun to see cars and clothes that people have gone all out on and want attention for. But it is another story when the jokes focus on someone’s inability to purchase newer, nicer clothes or newer, nicer cars. Not everyone has the luxuries you may have, as you sit in your nice home on your nice computer making fun of the less fortunate.
So let’s focus on the outlandish rather than the impoverished.
Thanks.

Here in middle Tennessee there are a lot of these “snack food” sedans. Guys have them done on purpose. They aren’t paid advertising at all. We have a Mountain Dew car, a Reese’s PB Cup car and a Skittles car driving around. They start with something like a big Chevy Caprice and put it up on 22s and then get it custom painted.
There are also a few nonfood cars. Locally there’s a Spiderman car and a Marvel comics car.

Thanks.

Hmmm…guess the bad economy is hitting Dr. Pepper Co. too since they use that old jalopy for advertising.

These cars are common around Charlotte… and it looks like this might be the Walmart on Wilkinson Blvd.

I believe this car is from Sanford, or if it’s not, there’s another car just like it. The kid who drives it was a student at the school I teach! I’m definitely showing this to the teachers tomorrow!

The pic is good, but those are not “donuts”. Those are basic steel wheels just missing the hubcaps.

There is an episode of the Sarah Silverman Show where the two gay guys make a Dr. Pepper car. Is this where the trend may have started?

Here in middle Tennessee there are a lot of these “snack food” sedans. Guys have them done on purpose. They aren’t paid advertising at all. We have a Mountain Dew car, a Reese’s PB Cup car and a Skittles car driving around. They start with something like a big Chevy Caprice and put it up on 22s and then get it custom painted.
There are also a few nonfood cars. Locally there’s a Spiderman car and a Marvel comics car.

It could be a “donk” f it weren’t for the junk black steelies
It could be a vendor rep’s fleet car if it wasn’t 15 years old with a mismatched front clip.
What it IS, is one of those inexplicable People of Walmart thingies….
