Great Khali (real name Dalip Singh) was born with a disorder most commonly known as Gigantism, which means that his growth hormones did not shut off when they were suppose to. One tell-tale sign, next to his height, is the pronounced features on his face.
Sadly, he most likely won’t reach 50. Andre the Giant, another wrestler/actor born with the same disorder, died at 46 from a heart attack in his sleep which was brought on by his size. Andre was over 500 lbs.
Singh is having knee problems already. He’ll be on crutches near the end of his life.

I’ve met him. he is actually a VERY nice quiet guy. Me being barely 5″1′ it was scary just to look at him. But in talking to him, totally cool guy very intelligent. Not just the “all brawn no brains” types. I’ve heard that he worked as a ditch digger in India and the smaller guys picked on him, not the other way around. I got the feeling that he knows that he is a huge guy, and makes up for it with his quietness. Also I’ve learned from other big guys that, are really nice and laid back cuz they know they can kick the crap out of anyone. But I have seen guys not much bigger than me go after big guys like this as some sort of “I have to proof I;m a man by taking on a guy that big” macho crap. Sorry about the long post.
