Amusing but he really should have taken the wee beastie out of the cart before catching some zzzzs.
The baby probably would have liked dozing on that nice soft belly!
I’ve come across situations like this before. I’ll stand and stare intently until they wake up. Then I just smile and walk away.
It creeps them out enough that they start paying more attention to their baby.
Of course one of these days I’ll get arrested I’m sure.

why
People, you CAN’T SEE his eyes, so you don’t know whether he’s asleep. He’s just slouching. If he was asleep, his feet would let go of the cart. Seriously.
This picture actually makes me feel very sad. While I agree with everyone else that the baby could be snatched very easily, it seems obvious to me that this was most likely out of necessity and not by choice. He probably had no where else to take the child. The child is also not wearing pants, which leds me to believe that funds are obviously limited.
I can’t imagine how horrible it must feel to not even have a place of your own for your child to take a nap or enough money to buy decent clothes for them… I think sometimes we are too quick to judge, and should stop and take a minute to be thankful for what we have. If I had seen this in Wal-Mart or anywhere else for that matter, I would have asked the man if there was anything I could do to help him out, not take his picture and post it online.
Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this site and all the entertainment it usually affords, but honestly, this picture did not belong on here.

Kinda makes you wonder how many people have stolen Walmart carts and made cribs out of them. Cute pic, but my first thought was how easy it would be for someone to take that baby. If I was the kids mother, I’l come along, take him out of the cart, walk away and scare the shit out of daddy.

If you haven’t lived through the sleeplessness of having a baby, then please take a chill pill.
Nobody’s going to take the cart or the kid. He’s got his feet on the cart, and any newborn’s dad will jump at the slightest whimper of their child.
I’d call this poor judgment, but nothing worthy of calling the cops or CPS. If you would call CPS over this, then perhaps you should worry more about your own life, and stop trying to rule everyone else’s.

I pulled this move (without the baby) with my dad at a Sam’s Club in Kentucky. We had an hour to kill while they put new tires on the car. Went and got some hot dogs and fountain drinks, made our way to the home furnishings aisle, and kicked it in some plush leather chairs. Not once did we see an employee.
It looks like it’s a dog in the cart, not a baby. Look at the front right paw, it’s bent downward like a dog’s would be, not a human. The bend is too far up for it to be a baby’s wrist. And look at the back end. If that’s a human baby then that’s one heck of a weird angle.

Guys, you have to understand the context of how a picture is taken. I happen to know this that this is the Walmart store manager, and he “secretly” lives in the store with the infant boy he found abandoned there last week at closing time. Dads are like this. They don’t think like women do. I can see why he wouldn’t hold the baby because if I was dosing off I would drop whatever was in my hand. Maybe he should be doing this in his car with the doors closed. Maybe he is not really sleeping but resting sometimes I close my eyes even though I’m awake. Only thing that happens in DCFS is your kids will be used for money.

What’s up with all the infants inside shopping carts? Both the babes featured on PoWM in shopping carts are still small enough that they’ll fit in one of those infant car seats that will snap onto the cart. To everyone thinking its an animal:
I thought it was too. It looked like the head was toward the back of the cart(where you push), in which case it makes perfect sense as an animal.. The way the “front” paws would be bent, then the back legs..
BUT
Look closely.. The white part which when you think its an animal would be right behind its front legs is the diaper which you can barely see..
Then when you look closely down where the “back/butt” would be on the animal, you can make out some blondish hair and two little arms..
The thing that gets you with this picture is the fact that the baby’s hair blends in so well with the skin… But it’s confirmed, its a baby.. You can even see his little ear
Cute, and I agree with others its most likely the mom taking the picture.. Thats about the age where one of the parents would be up all night with the baby.. then they both sleep all day

Not that I agree with the man sleeping, but as for the baby sleeping, i have done that with my son. Not often, but sometimes. He’s too big now for the car seat you carry and sometimes I have to take him with me, no matter that its naptime. So I throw a cushy blanket down and let him sleep. Doesnt last long though, he usually wakes up when we hit those damn bumpy things at the entrance

I love that he thinks putting his foot on the cart will keep someone from grabbing the baby….like his spidey senses will kick in even if the cart doesn’t move to wake him up.

Obviously taken at a Super Wal-Mart. He’s exhausted trying to find what he’s looking for. And since the cart is empy (except for the baby) it means he’s like the rest of us and can’t find anything we’re looking for in those damn huge places.

Guys, you have to understand the context of how a picture is taken. I happen to know this that this is the Walmart store manager, and he “secretly” lives in the store with the infant boy he found abandoned there last week at closing time. His assistant manager/girlfriend stayed the night with him and took this family portrait.

Makes me wonder how the parents are getting those kids home. Bet they don’t have car seats at all. Yeah, really safe.

I feel bad for this guy……..someone just totally just ditched the kid and now he’s forced to raise it………good thing he’s close to the infant section.

Not that I agree with the man sleeping, but as for the baby sleeping, i have done that with my son. Not often, but sometimes. He’s too big now for the car seat you carry and sometimes I have to take him with me, no matter that its naptime. So I throw a cushy blanket down and let him sleep. Doesnt last long though, he usually wakes up when we hit those damn bumpy things at the entrance

at least mom had the decency to put something under both big poppa and lil bear cause sleeping with no pants on in that cart, would be uncomfy!

It is a baby, not a dog. That’s how babies tend to sleep when they’re on their sides. And, it is Wal-mart. You can tell from the type of cart.

I love that he thinks putting his foot on the cart will keep someone from grabbing the baby….like his spidey senses will kick in even if the cart doesn’t move to wake him up.

Another baby-napper foiled by Wal-Mart’s strategically positioned La-Z-Boys.

I’d like to see the woman these two belong to…makes me feel bad for them, she has to be all sorts of high maintenance. Makes for a cute (albeit somewhat disturbing) pic. though.
