Not sure why it’s pink…and maybe it’s just me but he looks to be of Native American ancestry, which explains the dreamcatcher. And…I have a thing for Native American men, so I really don’t find him all that bad. Just saying.

Is it just me or does he look kind of like a deranged Meg Griffin?
It’s becoming clear that PoWM accepts, and posts, any photo sent in. A Native American guy wearing a coat with feathers on it? This is way out there because?????
What’s next? A person 50 pounds overweight buying walking shoes? Think of the funny comments we’ll see….”the only walking that guy will do is to the fridge”, et.
This is boring. PoWM….please take second looks at photos prior to posting or this site will soon be too dull to check out for a daily laugh.
I agree with some of the other posters. It is obvious to me that the man is a Native American, and I also think that the coat looks handmade. What is wrong with it being pink? Absolutely nothing. Men where all colors these days. The only reason this is being poked fun at is because it’s something foreign. As for the purple shirt he is holding, looks to me like he is in the Jr.’s section, he may be shopping for his daughter.

C’mon guys, were devolving to the point that we’re analyzing everyone who walks into Wal*Mart, this guys a bit off the beaten path, sure, but let’s save our biting & sarcastic but genius comments for the truly deserving wal-mart wackos, weirdos & WTF’s! Let’s have some standards here.
You would think that in this day and age that people would be more sensative to other cultures but reading some of these comments, I guess the ignorant redneck gene is alive and doing well. Kelly did not write this her, NATIVE AMERICAN husband did, but she is still offended. She still has native american kids. Why can’t the world just grow up?
As a native american I find this picture and the idea behind it very offensive and I believe it should be removed NOW! What if this man is trying to get a gift for his wife or sister…Oh yeh I forgot it is the american way to prejudge and ridicule.
I don’t see anything wrong with that picture. I’d LOVE to have that jacket! Just not in that colour. Hmm… wonder where in Washington he got that at? Probably on the reservation…

I noticed alot of comments about this pic not being that bad. I believe it is because PoW has desensitized the masses to photos such as this. They have set the bar soooooo high that pics like this cannot even touch it standing on their tippy toes. Do what?
I find it funny that people are looking for standards on a website called peopleofwalmart. BTW, who confirmed this person is even an American Indian? Even the comment for the pic didn’t even mention anything about American Indians. I see more dream catchers hanging on rednecks rearview mirrors than anywhere else. I guess its ok to make fun of the fat black chick in super tight spandex or the old white grandma with pink dyed hair, way to create that double standard.

Just because you have a garrish Indian dream-catcher on your fucia nightmare jacket it doesn’t mean you are a Native American and if it is “hand-made” as was speculated above…and if it is hand-made…some tribe needs their Indian card revoked.

Another lame photo on POWM. I fail to see what is so laughable about this guy. Seems to me most people are trying to find things wrong with him. I like the jacket and don’t see anything funny about it. So he’s looking at a purple shirt, maybe it’s for his daughter, and hey just maybe his daughter made the hat for him and like it or not, he wears it just because she made it for him. This photo is pointless and not funny at all.

I agree with a lot of ya’ll on here. the persons wearing a symbol of something and MOST of you people are making fun of the jacket because of the color. who cares. maybe it was the last one. what if someone got u something with a design on it that u liked, but not the color u wanted, what u wouldn’t wear it…. that’s BS. and u wonder y I don’t come on here to much anymore. there are some ppl who need to be made fun of because one- they look completely stupid and two- they probably didn’t look in the mirror when they left the house. this person isn’t one of them and GO KELLYS HUSBAND GO!!!! tell them how it is!
Thank u i’m not telling…this is Kelly, most of the things people said we didn’t like, you cant see now.Our point was all the racial names and people saying he’s a woman and calling him a fag!! Why because he has long hair!!!???We have 2 put up with this crap all the time..My husband has long hair and so do my 2 boy’s 11 & 3 that is apart of their culture and religion!!And that could have been one of them..thats why we were so mad!!And 2 of the people that are saying how do u know he’s Native American..well if you white u know when u see a white person don’t u!!???And 2 the person saying everybody makes fun of the black lady.. may be but they are not calling them the N word!!!!They my be making fun of her because she is fat or looking crazy..but not because of her religion!! I think some of these people need 2 do some reading and maybe they would undersatnd!!!

I’m a white living on a rez in WA State (and around here, white and rez IS politically correct) My white family leases land from a tribe on an island. Men here are much more comfortable with themselves than outside the rez and though I don’t know this guy, he could be from this rez. Native hair traditionally maintained is stringy – does not necessarily = dirty hair.
Just cause Native Pride doesn’t match White Pride doesn’t make it less valuable within the culture.
I think he looks perfectly fine – so what if the color is not a favorite?

As a native american I find this picture and the idea behind it very offensive and I believe it should be removed NOW! What if this man is trying to get a gift for his wife or sister…Oh yeh I forgot it is the american way to prejudge and ridicule.

I noticed alot of comments about this pic not being that bad. I believe it is because PoW has desensitized the masses to photos such as this. They have set the bar soooooo high that pics like this cannot even touch it standing on their tippy toes. And I believe this is a bad thing for those who wish to remain sane and not suddenly think that wearing an outfit like this is a good idea since “I saw far worse on PoW”

Just because you have a garrish Indian dream-catcher on your fucia nightmare jacket it doesn’t mean you are a Native American and if it is “hand-made” as was speculated above…and if it is hand-made…some tribe needs their Indian card revoked.

you know, (and maybe since i’m in the uk where it’s snowy and cold), but he just looks comfortable, snuggly, and warm. OK, so it’s pink. And? The association of gender with colour (girls = pink, boys = blue) is a mid 20th C thing – in fact it used to be pink for boys! I’ve (happily!) seen way worse here…

Um………… as a Washingtonian, I think you should know that we have a large Native American population consisting of many tribes; and making fun of a jacket just because it has a dream catcher on it is disrespectful towards their cultures. Please keep that in mind.

As a fellow Washingtonian, I’m fairly sure that that coat is popular in Washington. My own mother has one similar, in black. They’re wool and keep you warm during the cold days here!
No, it’s not bad considering where it’s from and I’d consider that he was purchasing something for a special lady.

oh WOW – this young man is actually an aspiring knitwear designer. I’ve seen a bunch of articles about him. He is young, might still be a teenager, and knits up a lot of really cool and creative stuff! I’m 99% positive that he made that himself, which is impressive even if you don’t like the color or subject matter. I understand why the pic made it to the site, but give the poor guy a break!

… sad, but my mom has that in blue. they’exactly the same but instead of a bird in the dream catcher it has a wolf. i’ll admit i like the pink better.
