HEY-how come nobody’s mentioned Tony’s great fast-talking lawyer role in the Coen bros. “The Man Who Wasn’t There”?! I saw that movie for the first time several years after “Monk” began, and I didn’t even realize at first that it was the same guy…the lawyer character is kinda like the anti-Monk. Glad somebody mentioned “Big Night”…and remember him as Denzel’s partner/sidekick in “The Siege”?? But definitely Monk rules!

I’m not sure where he lives, but I am pretty sure that he was heading to the same place we were, Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Crazily, I saw him again a few days later on I-64 driving south towards NC. When I first saw him in Walmart, it took a minute for me realize that it was him. I doubted that it was him for a few minutes, but after analyzing his demeanor, it would have been impossible for it not to be him. Plus, he was trying to be all incognito. He was checking out at the jewelery counter, he zipped his coat collar up over his mouth, then he was walking around with his head down while he waited for his wife and daughter trying to keep a low profile.

“My husband told me to visit this site today because I needed a laugh after crying all night about my parents who are ill from being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and my mom had a stroke a week ago…I said all that to say this…even though I’ve laughed at some of the pictures on here, when I saw this one, I smiled so much because this man is a very talented actor. I’ve seen him in Wings, Monk (which I’ve still to see the finale-missed it) and Cars. I’m an enormous fan and hope he gets back into TV series again. Hope you’re reading this, Mr. Shaloub…I’m a great fan and love that you “do” not separate yourself from the public eye. Wish I could have been there but you’re probably better off that I wasn’t. P,S. Ha, this is so awesome! Tony Shalhoub at a Walmart! This is such a total WIN! And there’s nothing wrong with remembering him from “Wings” AND “Monk”; he was adorable in both.
