You need to re-write your ‘About’ section. The purpose of your site is clearly all about creating something that is viral and will bring in dollars. Truly a sad waste of time…
“There is no reason to send us pictures of people that are seriously and unfortunately handicapped so don’t be an asshole. We are trying to have some fun here and there is a difference between someone who is mentally challenged and a person who has a fu Manchu and is still rocking MC Hammer pants.”
How would you know, you know nothing about anyone in these photographs, nor are you concerned with their personal history, you don’t even see them as human beings.
You prefer to call them homophobic slurs like “bull-dyke” and “bubba”. The bigotry is astounding…I can’t believe you have main-stream sponsorship. I personally think everyone should write to every single company that is patronizing this site to tell them what is up. Just because the majority of people that you have chosen to mock are white does not change the fact that this website screams bigotry and hatred, aimed at anyone who doesn’t fit the norm.
Sarah
I looked over your website, and I feel that you really are harsh towards these people. I thought that the pictures of the different cars and the outrageous costumes could be interesting to look at, without the rude comments. And please get rid of the pictures mocking people in pajamas and clothes that don’t fit. The website itself would not be so bad if you did not make fun of all the people, and instead made it out as a portrait of the people of America. I feel that it is wrong to make fun of people for being different, and instead we should embrace the differences. Everyone has feelings, and what right do we have to hurt those feelings and to make fun of their personal sense of style? We live in America and we should be grateful that our country is so colorful and vast in personal tastes and styles. I do not feel that it is right to make fun of someone for just being who they are and enjoying fully their right of personal expression. If we were not all so different, our lives would be very boring, indeed. I also have to say, that I highly doubt that you always look your very best or choose all of your clothes based on the very latest fashion trends today, I know I don’t, like most people, I just can’t afford to. I agree that sometimes people wear things that really don’t show them in the best light, but who are we to judge? These could be really great people, and making fun of them for all the world to see is wrong. I try to teach my children not to judge and humiliate others, what kind of examples are you setting for your children? I also encourage my children to dress how they would like to, and even though some of their outfits are creative and a little on the flambouyant side, I would hate to see someone mocking them and writing rude captions about them for all to see. That’s a great way to continue the self-image issues that people have of themselves today, and I feel that we should be trying to bring others up during these times, not push them down. I really hope that you will think about the way you are portraying these people and reconsider the hurt you are spreading during a time when we should be spreading hope.

I think this site is deplorable!!! There is nothing amusing about it and it is sick and wrong. I’m
horrified to know that a site such as this is available to the public!
Max
All of these people are just going to walmart to buy stuff and then you guys come and take pictures of them as if they are animals! Im a weird lookin redneck and i shop there cause they have good prices. COME TAKE A PICTURE OF ME NOW!!!! I HATE YOU AND YOUR WEBSITE.
Chris
Your site is extremely weak, but I enjoyed the ‘hatemail’, which was not hateful at all, quite reasonable in fact. I, too, “feel icky” after visiting your obnoxious web site.
Jennifer
i like how you guys just make fun of fat people
Liz
I admit some of these outfits are hilarious, I laughed. People shop
at Walmart because they cant afford to buy elsewhere. Poverty does not
breed stupidity. Clearly: you have access to a computer, making you richer
than most people in the entire world, and this site just makes your
ignorance shine. Your humor is hardly tongue-in-cheek, not as witty as you
think it is anyway. If you’re going to insult people you dont know, whose
lives you know nothing about, at least have the decency to do so
creatively. Your fat, racist, and classist jokes suck. People are not
creatures just because they are poor, or don’t care what other people
think. Characters or caricatures maybe, but not creatures. Go have a real
conversation with someone, rather than waste your time ridiculing
strangers.
Appalled that it was you who got the privilege of learning how to use a
computer instead of these PEOPLE on your site.
Christi
I can honestly say that when I first looked at your site I actually found some of the pictures funny. Some of the pictures ARE funny – but most of them make me sad. You’re making fun of poor people, working class people who don’t have a lot of money for clothes. You’re also making fun of mentally ill people who genuinely don’t know or care how to dress themselves. I’ve seen pictures making fun of people for having body hair. Your site might be a lot more amusing if you actually knew where to draw the line at who you’re laughing at. Disabled people don’t just sit in wheel chairs, you know. Mental illness and intellectual handicaps are disabilities too. Not to mention the fact that socioeconomic status is clearly playing a huge part in who you choose to poke fun at. The playing field isn’t even level. You guys are fucking jerk offs.
Bob
While it’s really funny at first look, I have to agree with the haters.
How would you feel if you’re picture was on the site with all kinds of nasty comments from anonymous people who are probably no better than the ones they target?
I ask you to post your pictures (AJK, ADK, LDW) looking like you did at 3pm in wal-mart so we can see what it’s like to be cool. Gee, if everyone were like you, wouldn’t that be fun?
Summer
You might (but probably not) gain more credibility if you posted photos of yourselves. You must be incredibly beautiful, well-dressed, and polished specimens to have such audacity. Hopefully this will get boring to you soon, because it is truly hurtful.
Sherry
This site is nothing but humans being put on public display and is pure negative emotion!
It saddens my heart the shame being placed on these people!
I do believe people should cover up their private areas. I believe they themselves are being negative and disrespectful to others, including the disrespectful words on t-shirts and vehicles.
Many of us may be guilty at privately snickering at other people’s attire (shame on us) but to put them on public display to shame them is WRONG!! All you say – for a – “harmless laugh”
1. Shame always results in a loss of dignity.
2. Shame produces emotional pain.
3. The shame received can be lifelong and far reaching.
Jessica
I grew up in Germany, lived in Japan, then California, before I moved to northern New Mexico some years ago. I’m telling you that to establish that I have a lot of “culture” and education under my belt and suffer when I see the “bad / ugly / creepy / crazy” shoppers I encounter at the local Walmart. They rarely make me laugh however; and to make fun of them, seems to be in bad taste. These people have serious afflictions, they are handicapped in less obvious ways, and shouldn’t be ridiculed.
Anonymous
You uppitty little bitches think your great! I dare you to get a pic of me, i’ll even tell you where and when. usually I am at the ________, _______ Walmart around 230am. I go there after work my shitty job always in my dirty work clothes with stained hands and a dirty face hair is not fixed . Do I care what other shoppers think? Hell no! I am there to get groceries and the nessecary items to help my family survive another shit filled day in this world that you think I am not good enough to live in. F%*K YOU MOTHER F#$@RS!!!!!!!!! Go ahead take my picture! Then when we go to court you can explain to my kids that the reason they cant eat is because their daddy beat the fuck out of some little snot nosed punks and he is now in jail on a 3rd offense. have a great day f!@#wads!
Melissa
I thought this site wasn’t going to be used to make fun of others? But instead, you allow all kinds of pictures to be posted on here with the comments along with them…and all kinds of people are being made fun of….during a time that our nation needs to band together and work through tough times, you instead encourage people to go seek out the “freaks” and anyone who looks different and post a picture for all to see and laugh at. Yeah…classy. I’m so over this site.
Saundra
You guys are ridiculous. Honestly, get a hobby. This is so rude. How do you think these people feel when they see this? Probably terrible. How would you like it if a picture of you was on the internet for everyone to see and you were being made fun of? It’s not right. All hating should stop. I feel bad for all of these people. Who cares what they look like? They may not blend in, but so what? It’s good to be different. Seriously, this is crazy. Just stop it, all of it. The people who made, help with, and support this website, really need to get a heart and a life. Grow up. It’s not pre-school and your getting picked on, these are grown people and how they live their lifes, and if you find it humorous, that’s sick and wrong, and putting this up for everyone to see, and making fun of people, you really need a life and its sick and twisted. What ever YOU think it boils down to, no one wants to think deep into it, you look at it .. and it’s obvious it’s cruel. I’d like to meet the person who invented this, and punch them in the face.
John
I hope you guys aren’t making money off of this. Because if you are you are the “Douches” mentioned in many of the captions of these pictures. You want to act like only rednecks and ignorant people shop at Wal-Mart, but if that is the case then how do you and the people you call fans get the pictures? Because you shop at Wal-Mart too. I don’t to know what else to call that other than bullshit.
Natasha
I am going to have to agree with the haters on this one; the fact that you
don’t even call them “people” except in the title of the site, but
“creatures”, speaks for itself. I don’t want to say that this is making fun
of poor people, because there are plenty of folks with money who dress crazy
as hell, but who cares who you are making fun of? Can you even imagine how
humiliating it would be to have someone email a pic to you, asking “is this
you?” with a shot of you that you never knew was being taken? You may think
“it never would happen to me, cuz I’m not a freak,” but I am sure there are
plenty of things you have done in your life that you wouldn’t want
documented and posted online for the whole world to see and makes jokes
about. I would rather that people be weird and uninhibited, than “fit in”
and be paranoid all the time that they are going to wind up on the internet.
I think you could put your energy to better use elsewhere. People who enjoy
this may think it’s harmless, but it only seems harmless till it happens to
you.
Grayson
These aren’t the people of Walmart, they are the people of America.
I know all the more reasonable people whom see this site may agree with this: I find great pride in being the type of human to not find humor herein. I feel better about myself to know that some people haven’t yet risen above such poor taste and judgement and quality, but also, I do feel sad, not for the people in the pictures, but for the members of our race that still find humor in this. I do not consider this a “hate mail” message, but rather a “get better” note to the cruel peoples who do not yet realize that they are indeed cruel. I salute the writers of the “hate” mail; we are the people to lead the beneficial progression of mankind.
Tammie
I must admit that when I first saw your site I laughed, even went back again and again to see what you had added. You eventually added vulgar shirts and hats and bumper stickers. I won’t be back again. Actually, I am ashamed of myself for getting any pleasure out of it at all. Please take a moment to consider the hurtfulness that can be caused by being made fun of. You may have never experienced not having the “in” name-brand shoes or clothing, but I did when I was growing up and it hurt. Not all people are beautiful on the outside and that you can tell at first glance, but the ugliness of a person’s inside is revealed by their deeds. Please use your talents in a more constructive manner.
Kim
Having read about your site, I had to satisfy my curiousity. First of all, most of the pictures really aren’t all that outrageous. Many of them are of people I wouldn’t even notice were I shopping, as I tend not to pay attention to what other people are wearing but instead to what I am shopping for. Reading some of your “fan” mail, I am especially disturbed by people who state that their kids were also laughing at these pictures. What a great example to set for your children: show them that making fun of people who are different or less fortunate than you is acceptable. Just because people don’t wear things that fit your definition of high fashion – who cares? Maybe they don’t care about appearances as much as you obviously do. You are just an example of the materialistic and self-centered mind-set that is bringing our country down. Shame on you.
Sam
You little geniuses are missing out on a lot of mental stimulation by not
embracing the diversity of the human condition fully. Start getting some
interviews and quotes. You could become big time videographers..and, while
filming, don’t forget to get a close up of yourselves the first time a
real life story dampens your little ol eyes.
Rachel
After perusing your site, I have to say I would like those 3 minutes of my life back. The only thing I associate with your site is the tragic fact that you find this funny and appropriate. I can only hope that one of these people take a couple of minutes to look through your site, see their picture, and sue you for degradation of character. Obviously your mothers never taught you the golden rule and that putting other people down to make yourself feel better is wrong. I am sorry for you that my 5 year old has more manners than you do.
Jason
This is pretty much one of the most pathetic websites I’ve seen lately. I could just imagine what the losers look like who put it together. I guess you’re so much better, in your minds, if you dress better? This pathetic store wouldn’t be as big as it is, if it wasn’t for everyone shopping there, no matter what they’re wearing, a**holes!
Mickey
What’s next? “People of the Food Bank” or “People of the Salvation Army”? All you are doing is having a laugh at the expense of the poor. It’s not funny, and quite frankly, it just makes me sad…
Tracy
i’m only one regretful reader, but your website is not sharply witty or
clever, just cruel and childish. i hope you don’t consider yourselves edgy
underground internet comedians because you’re not. who knows what you’re
really like, but from reading your site, you sound like a bunch of sexist,
arrogant meatheads. no offense. i just feel kinda icky after visiting it.
Veronica
I came across your web site after a friend forwarded me a link. Not funny, clever or creative in any way. It’s just mean and a total f-ing bore. Some people (photographers, writers, great artists, ordinary folks, etc.) think that weird is actually quite wonderful! Try doing something out of your own comfort zone. Ask your readers to celebrate the people of Wal-Mart rather than judging them based on a hairstyle, tattoo, car, outfit or otherwise.
Mick
i just wanted to say that i dont’ like your site. what’s the point? making fun of people who shop at walmart? what the hell? maybe i’m just retarded, but i don’t get it. i mean, it’s not the miss universe contest, it’s walmart. why the hell would anyone bother to get all dressed up just to go to the store? only in some rich brat’s world, for sure. dont’ worry i won’t be vistiing your site anymore.
Ryan
It is unfortunate that in an attempt to appear dignified and
respectable, you (the creators of this website) have simply showed the
rest of us how it takes absolutely no education or awareness of the
world around you to deem yourselves worthy of classifying what is and
isn’t a “handicap”. While I understand that your attempts at “satire” (I
think you should refer yourselves to a dictionary for a better
understanding of this word before using it in describing this site,
which certainly is not satirical in nature) involve observing how people
intentionally choose to live such “trashy” lifestyles, your presumptions
about the populations for which you mock couldn’t be farther from truth.
The class hierarchy in America is not a secret and it is also very well
documented and researched that the lower classes of our country are not
only the subject of oppression, but also that the ability for the
average person to actually rise from one socio-economic standing to one
above that of their current status is extremely hard in the system that
America uses to determine success. Because of this, the people you so
choose to mock were most likely born into a low socio-economic status
and never really had the opportunity to live a lifestyle outside of
that. Poor nutrition (causing the obesity epidemic we have in our
country, which you get plenty of laughs out of), lack of steady income
(which would likely explain half of the attire and cars on this website)
and lack of access to healthcare (also contributing to the condition of
these you love to exploit) are all plagues upon our country. It is
unfortunate that, rather than actually promote programs and ideas to
help lessen the gap in America’s wealth, you choose to use your
influence on the World Wide Web to continue harmful stereotypes of lower
classes and perpetuate the stigma against them that continues to hold
them back.
Of course, had any of you ever attended a College of any reputation you
would have certainly attended a Sociology class that would have covered
this in the first quarter. However, your lack of respect for the lower
class in our country also suggests you were brought up in a fairly
middle-class to upper-class environment. The fact that you even take the
time to update this site also suggests you are of a younger generation.
So congratulations: you were born into one of the most privileged and
select social classes in the world, and yet having failed to attain an
education of any merit you waste your time pointing out the inadequacies
of those who have not had the same privileges as you in their lives. The
real shame does not lie in the people for which you make fun of, but in
you for your inability to make any sort of real contribution to the
greater good of the people around you.
Alla
I have been unfortunate enough to get several of photos from your site forwarded to me and after initial guilty chuckle, and after I have had time to think about it, I have this to say:
You and people like you, the ones who send you photos and the ones who feel it necessary to take them to begin with, are a slimy lot for sure. What gives you the right to ridicule your fellow man (or woman) for the way they look. I do not see YOUR photo displayed here. Is this the case of ugly mocking the poor to make themselves feel better. You have an issue with Wal Mart because maybe they fired your ass for being mean to customers and you are trying to humiliate the public that shops this store? You guys are worse that anyone on those pictures, because you are ugly where it counts, on the inside.
Micha
F*** YOU for making fun of people. These people don’t need pity, but they
sure as hell don’t need to be mocked. F*** your arrogant asses and this
cruel website.
Brenna
Were you guys bullies in high school? The kind of kids that made fun of
the poor students for wearing outdated clothes? Were you the sixteen
year old punk driving the brand new car that your daddy bought you and
laughing at the kids who had to take the bus?
Just wondering….
Alexis
There are some funny sites on the internet that poke fun at people who take themselves to seriously. I enjoy making fun of some vain dillusional douche just as much as the next guy, but this site isn’t like that. This site is pictures of people who don’t know that there picture is being taken and the put up on the internet. People don’t shop at Walmart for the fashion, they shop there for the LOW PRICES. Then again, I have the creators of this site pegged as some college fraternity assholes who’ve never known what it’s like to HAVE to shop at places like Walmart so that you can afford to feed your kids. Am I right? You are the type of scum scrotes that other sites can’t wait to get pictures of acting like the fucktards you are. The thing is that you asshats usually post those pictures on the internet by yourself, because unlike the people you feature on your site, you really really want us to like you. The thing is… we don’t.
Ashley
What gives you the right to mock and humiliate these people you and your kind are sick and immature! your parents must be proud they raised a real jackass who probably is no more then a bored idiotic geek that feels horrible about his/herself so the only way you can make yourself feel better is to make fun of someone else. Grow the hell up.
Elle
It’s pretty juvenile — actually nasty middle school — to mock people for the way they look or dress. Maybe they seem odd to you, and who knows what you consider “pulled together,” but holding people up to ridicule on account of their weight, dress, style, age, income level, and so forth just exposes you for Babbity little conformists. I’m sure you’d feel most comfortable in a world where everyone looked neat and stylish, but what a boring, conventional world that would be! I shop at Wal-Mart from time to time, though I disapprove of their labor policies; worry at their size and bullying clout on competitors; object to the politics of their founders; and so forth. But I would never sneer at their customers for being poor or a little offbeat. Under those unusual exteriors, I am sure, are some of the warmest hearts and quickest wits — probably a lot funnier than your clumsy, transparently obvious broadsides. Just because people didn’t get all the breaks in life shouldn’t set them up for pinioning by callow punks.
Vallan
I simply needed to write to express how disgusted I am with your website.
Yes, some of the clothing that the people were wearing is outlandish or
ridiculous, but only a disgusting person who has nothing better to do with
their time (and life?) would feel the need to make fun of people for this
publicly (with uncreative one-lined commentary). Obviously the correlation
between poverty and certain marginalizing characteristics of people has
never crossed your mind- otherwise you would have never created such an
ignorantly mean website. I really cannot understand the self-centered,
cruel nature of our society, and how people like you seemingly are the
majority.
Dave
I used to look at people with the smugness you do until I began to get to know some of those people. I came to understand that most of these folks are actually warm, loving people who simply don’t give a fuck what they look like to others. They’re too busy keeping their lives together on their meager incomes. I remember as a kid growing up that we had the most fun at the house of a “white trash” family rather than the well-manicured homes of others in our school. The white trashers were always generous, would set an extra place at the table should someone be hungry — and the mother was THERE for us. I can’t say enough good things about white trash folks. They work hard and they play hard with what little money they have.
James
Hello. I’m English, from England, where deep class divisions linger on unnoticed, like Chlamydia. But I must say, this blog seems to be about taking photos of the poor and then mocking them. That doesn’t strike me as very enlightened. But this is the internet, so knock yourself out, I just thought I’d say it how I see it, as you yanks might put it.
Mark
It’s just a matter of perspective. I think photos of people who shop at Tiffany’s might look just as strange, albeit in a different way. It’s all just classist bullshit.
Deborah
What a meanspirited website you have constructed. I don’t see any humor in ridiculing working class and poor people who have not enjoyed the economic advantages you have. These are good people who deserve dignity and respect without regard to their appearance. You know nothing about them, their strengths, their families, their trials, or their life stories. There is enough negativity and cruelty in the world without this website. Please take it down. It’s about as funny as beating up homeless people when you are bored.
