Hay Hay Hay

Hey, you can lead a horse to Walmart but you can’t force him to put on pants. Am I right? Huh? Right?….Whatever, just get your damn beet pulp.

I checked out this guy’s website, and I don’t understand him. He just keeps traveling around the country in a covered wagon with six horses, but he really doesn’t give a reason as to why. He mentions having problems with traffic and needing the police to help redirect traffic and assist in finding a camping spot. I understand that he wants to be an adventurer and a minimalist, but NOBODY should be abusing an officer’s time like this.

So I checked out this guy’s website, and it looks like he just travels the open road in a wagon with six horses. He doesn’t give a reason for doing this, but he does say that he needs to have help from the police to redirect traffic. Minimalism is one thing, but he doesn’t need to be wasting people’s time.

I’m not sure what the covered wagon is about., except to draw attention to his starving horses. Hay has little nutritional value and alfalfa/grass is sky high price wise. Beet pulp is full of, well, beety goodness. I think this is a person that cares about the animals and is trying to save them from the glue factory.

Hay–no nutrition. Grass/Alfalfa–Prices are sky-high right now. Beet Pulp would be full of vitamins, fiber and a few calories. I think someone used their imagination to save their horses. I hope it works.

@Keefers, no, there’s a problem with comments not showing up on the site for hours after they’re posted, leading people to think their comments didn’t go through the first time.

At least the horses aren’t showing crack or wearing clothes several sizes too small.

I used to work for the CBS affiliate in Erie, PA and we did a story on this guy in 2008. I remember back then he was travelling from one end of the country to the other because he was dying of cancer and he wanted to see the country. Seeing this image now I wonder if we were fed a story by him.

I can’t really be the only one who thinks the name is a freaking riot.

    Seriously: “horseflogger.”

Is this guy a professional horseflogger? How does one become a horseflogger? I didn’t even know you were allowed to be a horseflogger in public.

I added this guy on face book to tell him that I think it’s wrong, having animals like that while clearly unable to feed them. This guy and his supporters are a) very angry, and b) NUTS.

Okay, so this guy needs 2000 dollars a week to feed his horses. Why doesn’t he find a good stable for ‘em? I’m sure there’s people in the U.S. who’d be willing to give these horses a good home!
I can’t find a single good reason on his website for him to be doing this, plus he mentions one of the horses, ‘Tom’, being sick (?), which costs him another 600 per month. What does the horse have? And wouldn’t it be better to put him in a nice pasture somewhere, where he can relax?
As a ‘horse person’ myself (own 2), I really hate the fact that these horses are being used in this way for no reason at all.
