Just Throw It In The Back
A Spring man is accused of throwing his 3-year-old child into the backseat of a car without a car seat while fleeing a Houston-area Walmart.
Matthew Wolski, 22, is charged with endangering a child after the Jan. 16 incident at the store in the 1300 block of Fry Road in West Houston, according to a complaint filed by the Harris County District Attorney’s office.
Wolski — accompanied by his child — entered the store, selected several items off the shelves and attempted to leave the store without paying, according to the complaint.
When Walmart’s in-house security attempted to stop him, he pushed one of them away, grabbed the child and ran to his silver Chevrolet Impala, which was in the parking lot. He threw the child into the backseat, without any safety restraints, and drove off at high speed, the complaint said.
The next day, a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy identified Wolski when responding to an unrelated home invasion case. During the interview process, the officer recognized Wolski as the man involved in the Walmart theft attempt, the complaint said. The silver Impala and a child matching the description from the Walmart incident were also at the scene.
Wolski has not been arrested, according to the complaint. He has previously been accused of drug possession, indecent exposure, aggravated assault against a public servant, credit card abuse and theft, according to court documents.
